Michael Simpson is a yoga teacher and aspiring writer, but primarily considers himself a lifelong student. Michael studied Anatomy and Physiology at Penn State University and is now an E-RYT 500-hour yoga teacher and regular faculty member of local teacher trainings. He is known for his ability to articulate complex anatomical principles into easily-digested offerings. Michael received his first 200-hour certification in 2013 under the guidance of Heather Sheridan and Julie Gurevich. Since then, Michael has been lucky enough to study with modern-day yoga masters like Jason Crandell, Carrie Parker, Stacey Bell, and Jillian Pransky. In each class, Michael seamlessly weaves together precise anatomy, meditation techniques and storytelling into a powerful yoga experience.
Micheal has joined the FlorYoga staff to head up our Anatomy and Physiology studies for our teacher trainees that will be working to become teachers at our Sol Spirit trainings starting this year. He comes to us with a wisdom of the body from years of practicing and teaching yoga, combined with an amazing educational background and a consistent desire to continue learning and teaching as both a mentor and a student. His classes bring together his intense attention to sequencing, modifictations for all physologies,, an amazing wit and also a sense of humility as he guides his students with true intention.
